Job Summary
Position: Senior Accountant
Location: Remote - Open to candidates in Latin / Central America
Working Schedule: US business hours (San Francisco Pacific Time Zone)
Reports to: Co-Founder / CFO
Role Overview
We are a holding company of six businesses and are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage core accounting operations across the portfolio. This role will own the accounting function including month end close financial statement preparation AR AP payroll and more.
The ideal candidate is highly organized detail-oriented and comfortable operating across multiple companies and systems.
This role will serve as the sole accountant within the department. While positioned at a senior level with responsibility for high-level accounting functions the successful candidate must also be comfortable managing day-to-day transactional tasks. They will take full ownership of the accounting function end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close
Own the monthly accounting close process for the parent company and all six subsidiaries
Prepare and post journal entries including revenue recognition accruals and prepayments
Accurately classify all revenue and expenses
Reconcile P&L and balance sheet and investigate and resolve variances
Produce accurate and timely financial statements and supporting schedules for management review
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Manage AR for each of the portfolio companies
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances in a timely manner
Reconcile AR sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly
Process vendor invoices across all entities ensuring proper approval and on time payments
Payroll
Process payroll accurately and on schedule across all entities
Reconcile payroll accounts monthly and ensure proper recording of payroll journal entries
General Responsibilities
Tax Preparation Support; assist with tax preparation across all entities coordinating with external tax advisors as needed
Maintain consistency in accounting policies and procedures across all entities
Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiency across the accounting function
Qualifications
46 years of accounting experience with multi-entity or holding company experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in QuickBooks required; experience managing multiple QuickBooks entities a plus
Strong Excel skills and comfort working across large volumes of data
Solid understanding of GAAP revenue recognition standards and general ledger accounting
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Strong communicator who can work cross-functionally with subsidiary leadership and corporate stakeholders
Preferred Experience
Experience in a holding company PE-backed or multi-entity environment
Experience working with software and technology companies
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
