Were looking for SRE and DevOps Engineers to join our platform engineering team. Over the next 18 months we will invest significant effort in growing our platform engineering team and the operational excellence they will drive across the business. Youll bring relevant SRE experience to help us accelerate it.

What you will do

• Join our platform engineering team. Youll be a crucial part of our platform team working closely with your engineering manager technical product manager and other engineers to evolve our internal systems and platforms.

• Own the technologies that power our engineering. Youll be responsible for cross-cutting technologies that support all Dovetail engineers in delivering value to our customers. Youll directly impact delivery performance developer experience reliability and the end-to-end customer experience by delivering excellent internal products.

• Support high-quality product infrastructure. Working with your team youll participate in the design and implementation of technical solutions for Dovetails platform including infrastructure application foundations developer tooling CI/CD and observability.

• Help mature our operational health. Youll bring an SRE mindset to promote operational practices within our platform and product teams. Your hard work will support state-of-the-art reliability and performance for our rapidly growing customer base.

• Support other engineers. Were scaling quickly so youll work with others to continually improve our software practices through code review pair programming design sparring and career growth.

• Foster a culture of pragmatism. Youll maintain and foster a pragmatic approach to software development while also collaborating towards establishing detailed guidelines and standards for product development processes based on industry best practices and your experience.

What you will bring

• Experience in platform engineering. Youll have experience with technologies similar to TypeScript GraphQL Aurora PostgreSQL AWS containerization (EKS or ECS) serverless technologies developer tooling and infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi and Terraform). While you dont need to be a master of our technology stack youre a fast learner and understand relevant concepts.

• Youre a disciplined operator. Youre a strong owner whos used to owning the platform reliability performance security for high growth platforms. You hold a high bar on ensuring that we keep our test and release and operational hygiene in a good state so everyone can sleep well.

• Experience working on platform projects. Youll have the ability to play a significant role in the delivery of complex features understand requirements and drive quality.

• You are pragmatic and flexible. Like your new teammates youre used to doing whats necessary to get the job done. Youll need to be comfortable with ambiguity operate with high independence be resourceful in solving problems and be able to adjust to shifting deadlines and project goals.

• When you do it you nail it. You share our keen eye for quality. You dont half-ass your work instead what you ship is top-notch. You cut scope before cutting quality.

• Excellent concise communicator. You can easily convey your thoughts opinions and feelings with your platform team and have the ability to articulate effort vs impact tradeoffs.

• You know how to build great software. 5 years of software engineering experience in software engineering with a minimum of 3 years in SRE DevOps or equivalent teams. You have a bachelor of computer science or equivalent industry experience and possess strong knowledge of software engineering fundamentals and operational best practices.
