About the Role:
Join a supportive multidisciplinary mental health team where your lived experience can make a real difference. As a Peer Support Worker youll help deliver recovery-focused evidence-based support across community acute and rehabilitation settingsempowering consumers to achieve their goals and better understand their own recovery journey. Working alongside clinicians youll provide practical day-to-day assistance while sharing insight hope and encouragement drawn from your personal experience.
What Were Looking For:
Essential Criteria
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse consumers families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Lived experience of mental health recovery with the ability to provide empathetic non-judgemental and practical support.
- Ability to work collaboratively manage priorities and maintain professionalism integrity and confidentiality.
- Experience supporting people with mental health challenges and engaging with community health services and diverse cultural groups.
- Understanding of mental health recovery principles self-management strategies and a commitment to culturally appropriate care.
Desired Criteria
- Willingness to undertake further relevant training with experience supporting others in recovery from mental health challenges or disability.
- Experience delivering one-on-one and group support within community health or service settings.
- Knowledge of mental health recovery principles consumer rights and available community resources and services.
