Whats the role
The Head of Data Strategy Management and Governance is accountable for defining and executing the Groupwide data and analytics strategy ensuring data is trusted secure compliant and effectively governed across its full lifecycle. The role enables strong business and customer outcomes by embedding automated scalable data management and governancebydesign while reducing operational risk and supporting executive and Board confidence in datadriven decisionmaking.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Strategy & Enterprise Leadership
- Define and execute the Groupwide data and analytics strategy aligned to enterprise priorities business outcomes and customer needs.
- Ensure clear and demonstrable alignment between data strategy execution and measurable business outcomes.
- Act as a visible role model for dataled leadership and governance excellence across the organisation.
Data Lifecycle Management & Automation
- Lead the automation of the endtoend data lifecycle including ingestion storage usage sharing retention and disposal.
- Establish and operate enterprise data management capabilities including:
- Metadata management
- Data lineage
- Master data management
- Data quality controls
- Embed governancebydesign prioritising automation of controls to reduce manual handling inefficiency and operational risk.
Governance Risk & Compliance
- Own enterprise data governance and data quality ensuring compliance with privacy prudential and regulatory requirements.
- Safeguard secure access use and disposal of data in line with security privacy ethical and regulatory standards.
- Operate within approved risk appetite embedding governance across data usage analytics usage privacy and ethics.
- Provide expert oversight challenge and escalation for material or highrisk analytics and data use cases.
Policies Frameworks & Assurance
- Develop and maintain Group data policies frameworks tools and patterns including foundational data products.
- Ensure effective controls assurance documentation and issue management in accordance with Group policies.
- Ensure data and analytics outputs are trusted explainable auditable and decisionready supporting executive and Board confidence.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide transparent reporting on data risk compliance and control effectiveness to executive leadership and Board forums.
- Partner closely with technology risk legal privacy and business leaders to enable consistent enterprise adoption of data governance and management practices.
People Leadership
- Build and sustain critical data governance capability through talent management capability reviews and succession planning.
