Summary

The Material Handler II is responsible for receiving storing and distributing materials within a manufacturing or warehouse environment. This role ensures accurate inventory management timely material delivery to production and adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in material handling strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming shipments verify materials against purchase orders and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
  • Unload label and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Distribute raw materials components and supplies to production lines in a timely manner.
  • Perform inventory transactions in ERP/WMS systems including receipts transfers and adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Operate forklifts pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.
  • Coordinate with production purchasing and logistics teams to meet material requirements.
  • Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Identify and report material shortages discrepancies and opportunities for process improvement.

Required Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in warehouse manufacturing or material handling roles.
  • Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment (certification preferred).
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or inventory control practices.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Manufacturing and warehouse setting.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures equipment noise and operational traffic.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
