Job Summary

Job Title: Senior Scheduler

Location: Norfolk VA 23523

Duration: 12 months contract to hire

Pay: $59.00/hr. on W2

Citizenship Requirement: US Citizens or Perm Resident

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Scheduler to join our team in the ship maintenance industry.

As a Scheduler you will be responsible for preparing and coordinating plans and schedules for new or existing programs determining manpower requirements and analyzing the impact of projects on various areas such as Operations Program Management Office Facilities and Crafts. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with some experience in the ship maintenance industry to develop their skills and knowledge in scheduling and project management.

Experience Required:

  • 6 years as a scheduler in the ship maintenance or ship building industry.
  • Comfortable with MS Excel and formula use.
  • Experience with a schedule modelling tool (MS Project Open Plan P6 Primavera.)
  • Associate of Science or higher degree in a related field (e.g. Business Engineering Operations Management)
  • Must have intermediate Excel experience scheduling software experience (P6 Deltek Open Plan similar).
  • Outside of scheduling software candidate must be able to take a specification work item and build a Integrated Production Schedule with sequencing predecessors successors durations dates DCMA scheduling criteria and other industry SME decision making capabilities.

Skills Preferred:

  • Comfortable using MS PPT MS Word Able to prepare and coordinate plans and schedules for new or existing programs.
  • Able to determine monitor and review manpower requirements.
  • Able to analyze the effects of projects on various areas such as budgets on time delivery and resource availability.
  • Able to formulate and recommend corrective action measures such as schedule revisions manpower adjustments fund allocations and work requirements.
  • Able to develop solutions to a variety of problems of increased scope and complexity.
  • Able to work under general direction from supervision with some guidance from policies and practices.
  • Able to ensure accountability for completion of projects and goals.
  • Able to deliver products on time and without error.
Able to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external customers to gather information and resolve issues
