Senior Software Engineer Backend (Founding Team)

Onsite (5 days/week)
Salary: $150K $250K Equity

Role Overview

We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join an early-stage high-growth startup building AI-powered products for a large and complex industry.

In this role you will design and build core backend systems data infrastructure and AI pipelines that power next-generation applications. This is not a typical backend role-youll work on large-scale data systems distributed architecture and AI-driven workflows.

What Youll Work On

Retrieval systems for large unstructured datasets
AI pipelines for processing documents data and workflows
Distributed systems handling compute-intensive workloads
Backend infrastructure supporting AI/LLM-based applications
Real-time systems enabling collaboration between users and AI

Responsibilities

Build and scale backend systems for AI-driven applications
Design and develop APIs for complex workflows
Develop data pipelines for large-scale processing
Architect distributed scalable systems
Optimize performance latency and system reliability
Deploy and maintain production-grade AI/LLM systems
Contribute to system architecture and engineering best practices

Required Qualifications

5 years of backend engineering experience
Strong programming skills in Python Go or TypeScript
Experience with distributed systems and scalable APIs
Solid understanding of data structures systems design and concurrency

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AI/LLMs RAG or vector databases
Experience with large-scale data pipelines
Cloud experience (AWS or GCP)
Experience with high-performance or GPU-based workloads
Startup environment experience
