Job Title: Surgical Technologist (Contract)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 12-hour shifts (3 days/week) On-call
Location: Fort Myers FL
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will have strong orthopedic experience the ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams and flexibility to adapt to varying case demands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Ensure proper setup and functioning of surgical equipment
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout all procedures
- Anticipate surgeon needs to support efficient workflow
- Assist with patient positioning prepping and draping
- Perform instrument counts and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Support turnover between surgical cases
- Float to other OR units or affiliated locations as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience
- Strong orthopedic surgery experience required
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to take on-call shifts as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior travel assignment experience
- Experience in multi-specialty OR settings
