Boeing Global Services (BGS) a leader in aerospace innovation for over a century is seeking a dynamicProgram Management Specialist (Level K)to guide and develop a team of Project Managers based in Long Beach CA. Our Commercial Modifications team delivers cutting-edge retrofit solutions for in-service Boeing aircraft worldwide leveraging EASA and FAA certification pathways.

This role focuses on ourConnectivity product line which provides Low Earth Orbit connectivity solutions to airlines. Reporting to the Global Connectivity Leader in Long Beach California the successful candidate will lead project managers across the US and ensure strong collaboration with Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Boeing Global Services (BGS) Business Development and the local and global teams responsible for delivering connectivity solutions through the EASA and FAA certification process. This leader will assist with new/upgraded offerings focused on retrofit system qualification that will enable the execution team to certify new connectivity system offerings to grow the business.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead mentor and develop a team of Project Managers located in Long Beach California and other locations as determined by the business.

  • Partner with the Global Connectivity Leader to shape the program execution strategy and ensure the team is aligned and focused on its successful delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Airplane Programs Business Development Customer Program Management Supply Chain and Customer Support to ensure seamless program execution.

  • Collaborate with external Connectivity Suppliers

  • Oversee project schedules budgets quality standards and risk management activities to meet or exceed program objectives.

  • Serve as the main liaison between senior management and project teams delivering transparent updates on program status risks and opportunities.

  • Facilitate resource planning workload balancing and professional development for team members across multiple locations.

  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve project management processes and boost overall team performance.

  • Support recruitment onboarding and performance management activities within the project management team.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Works autonomously and makes sound tactical decisions under pressure while maintaining alignment with strategic goals

  • Managing teams of Project Managers ideally within the aerospace sector.

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader temp manager large scale cross functionalproject/program management or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course Exploring Leadership.

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or similar qualifications in Business Project Management or a related field required.

  • Experience in project management with a proven track record of delivering complex aerospace projects.

  • Proficient with project management tools (e.g. MS Project Primavera JIRA Smartsheet) and reporting software.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications.

  • Willingness and ability to travel periodically for strategic coordination globally to support emergent customer needs

  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • PMP PgMP or equivalent certification preferred.
