The Community Health Specialists are hourly clinical staff who will provide support for program activities including but not limited to providing childbirth and parenting education health fairs community events and targeted outreach. These staff will provide screening services including taking biometric measurements implementing screening questionnaires counseling at-risk individuals and referring eligible participants to evidence-based programs. This position reports to the Health Promotions Program Coordinator.

  • Must be comfortable leading a class in Spanish

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university with an interest in behavioral community or public health.
  • Experience in childbirth and/or lactation education preferred.
  • Experience working in labor and delivery or maternal child units preferred.
  • Experience workingin a community setting is preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Must maintain current Maryland License as an RN or licensure in a compact state that allows practice in Maryland.
  • Must have valid drivers license clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • This position may spend the majority of the time working in the community away from the office.

Salary Range: Minimum 35.02/hour - Maximum 52.69/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
