Onsite Mechanical Engineering Summer Intern

Summary

As an Engineering intern you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to real-world projects and gain exposure to multiple disciplines of engineering including but not limited to design manufacturing and electrical. You will work closely with our team of experienced engineers and professionals learning from their expertise and guidance. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into the aerospace industry and help you develop your technical skills and knowledge by applying classrooms skills and experience in a real-world environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work within a project team to understand component functionality.
• Develop components and system installations to satisfy competing requirements while also considering factors such as cost schedule manufacturability etc.
• Develop parts lists/Bills of Materials for piece-part assembly and installation drawings.
• Produce piece-part assembly and installation drawing requisite to effectively communicate manufacturing data and installation design.
• Actively assist project management and engineering teams in solving internal and external analysis manufacturing and design challenges.
• Limited planning required outside immediate or assigned task.
• Able to communicate clearly in writing (e.g. email memos explanations drawings) and explain work to his/her supervisor and others in the group.
• Can work effectively with peers.
• Responsible for implementing and complying with all ethical and legal compliance requirements.
• Other duties & functions may be assigned to this position as needed.
• Working knowledge of ISO/9001/14000/13485 and AS9100 processes.

Required:

• Currently in the process of completing a four-year engineering degree.
• 0 years of experience working in a mechanical design capacity.
• Familiarity and/or experience working with a 3D CAD package preferably AutoCad Creo or Solid works.

Able to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measurement common fractions and decimals.

Competently use Microsoft products have knowledge of material planning system and general computer skills.

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Possess the ability to identify problems and work towards a solution.

Physical Demands *

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand walk sit use hands to pull handles and push buttons. Requirements may also include climbing balancing stooping kneeling crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Compensation

$21 per hour

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location job-related knowledge skills and experience.

An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a drug test and background check and applicants who do not successfully pass both the drug test and background check will not be considered for employment.
