The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry atOhio State University is hiring apart-timeResearchLeadTechniciantomanagelaboratory-based research projectsdesigned to improve the success of strategiesfor the bioanalytical analysis of acetylcholinesterase butyrylcholinesterase and related proteins. Theresearchrequires fine attention to detail excellent organizational skills ability tooverseeand coordinatemultiple projects and research lab staffability to anticipate and solve most lab issues with little supervision preparation of graphs and advanced data analyses and ability to lead report and/or publication writing Research Lead Technicianwill leadlab andbiochemicalresearch projects including protein expression proteincharacterizationand the development of novelin vitroassays as well astrainnew and existing research lab Research Lead Technicianmustbe an expertin cholinesterase enzymes biochemical assays for absorption and fluorescence proteinexpressionandacross a range of experimental researchwork will involvethe handling and preparation of biochemical milieu and the purification or analysis of such mixtures.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelors Degree inChemistryor Biochemistryor equivalent experience; 5 years of relevant experiencewith High School diploma or GED 3 years of relevant experiencewithAssociates Degree or 1 years of relevant experiencewithBachelors Degree.

Additional Education/ExperienceDesired

Masters or higher degree desired.

Desired:

Five years of experiencein the handling ofcholinesterasesand other proteins.

The pay range for this job profile is$22.93 -$29.95/hourly. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity units available budget and the candidates qualifications.
