Bluestem Electric Cooperative Inc. is a nonprofit and member-owned electric 1999 P R & W Electric Cooperative Association Inc. (1940) and C & W Rural Electric Cooperative Association Inc. (1938) consolidated to form Bluestem Electric Cooperative Inc. These two cooperatives were incorporated over 75 years ago by groups of rural citizens. Bluestem Electric exists today to provide its members with quality electric service at the lowest reasonable cost consistent with good business practices.
Bluestem serves Pottawatomie Riley Wabaunsee Jackson Clay Washington Cloud Ottawa Dickinson Geary and Marshall counties.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Completion of and/or completing lineman apprenticeship training program
- At least 1 year of job experience
- A valid Kansas Class A Commercial drivers license (CDL)
- Current medical exam card.

Norton County Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital and Level IV trauma center, and along with the Norton Medical Clinic, provides medical services for residents in Norton County and surrounding northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska communities.
