Description of Work
This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

This temporary position is with NC DNCR Museum of History located at 501 South Water Street Elizabeth City NC Pasquotank County.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).
The Dept of Natural and Cultural Resources Museum of History is seeking a part-time Admin / Museum Tech I to assist with maintaining updating and refining the collections database at the Museum of the Albemarle with care and precision. The selected candidate for this role will:
* Record location of artifacts and track artifact status
* Maintain up-to-date paperwork of recent acquisitions temporary receipts and loan documents
* Number artifacts with their accession numbers
* Scan archival documents
* Draft condition reports of artifacts
* Artifact stabilization and placing textiles on archival mannequins
* Research topics for exhibits and acquisitions
* Other duties as assigned

- Basic knowledge of English composition and scientific writing techniques.
- Ability to judge the risk and effectively minimize danger to artwork artifacts and specimens.
- Ability to read exhibits plans and design effective lighting systems.
Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of experience as related to knowledge skills and abilities in area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
