Entry-Level Electrical Helper

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated reliable and hardworking Electrical Helper to join our team. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn the electrical trade. You will work directly under the supervision of experienced electricians gaining hands-on experience in marine electrical systems. The ideal candidate has a strong desire to learn takes pride in their work and is committed to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Electricians: Assist Lead Electricians with the installation maintenance and repair of electrical wiring fixtures and equipment.
- Material Handling: Transport tools equipment and materials to and from work areas and trailers.
- Site Preparation & Cleanup: Clean work areas remove debris and maintain tools and equipment to ensure a safe and organized environment.
- Basic Installations: Assist with shooting studs pulling wire proper labeling of wires and installing outlet boxes switches and lighting fixtures. Assist with installation of Motor controllers transformers disconnects Power panels etc.
- Tool Usage: Safely operate basic hand and power tools (drills saws stud welders grinders etc.)
- Safety Adherence: Strictly follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Experience: No prior electrical experience is required though construction experience is a plus.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 lbs standing for long periods bending crouching and climbing ladders.
- Reliability: Being dependable on Time and available for overtime when needed.
- Willingness to Learn: A strong eagerness to learn the electrical trade and follow instructions.
- Certifications: OSHA 10-hour safety certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors often in hot or cold weather conditions.
- May work in cramped tight spaces.
- Occasional long hours including early mornings or weekends.
Work Demands
- The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to respirator hardhat face shield safety goggles safety shoes (steel toe) safety harness gloves or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis.
- The employee must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
- The employee must report to their supervisor any and all damages to equipment or broken and misused tools.
- The employee may be working in several different areas and environments; this includes work inside and outside of buildings or structures.
- The employee needs to work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.
