21st Century Summer Program Nurse RN / LPN - Summer 2026
The 21st Century Out-of-School Time Nurse is a critical figure in maintaining the safety and well-being of all participants in summer camp programs. Their responsibilities include overseeing the nursing and health needs of school-age students during summer school hours. By providing essential medical support they contribute to a positive and secure camp experience for everyone involved.
Qualifications:
- RN Role: Must hold Massachusetts RN License and have a current CPR/AED certification; or LPN Role: Must hold Massachusetts LPN License and have a current CPR/AED certification;
- Previous experience in the area of support is preferred;
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing and DESE support service license preferable
- Preference will be given to staff members currently employed as a nurse in FPS;
- Applicants must commit to being present for the full duration of the program.
Responsibilities:
The 21st Century Summer Nurse will:
- Be responsible for nursing and health needs of school-age students during summer school hours including any medication distribution and emergency first aid for on-site and Field Trips;
- Organize a daily schedule to provide services at one school site Field Trips must attend as scheduled;
- Maintain appropriate records;
- Communicate with the summer Director and Coordinator;
- Other duties as assigned.
Program planning and development: April 28 2026 -June 30 2026 NTE 10 hours
All Staff Meeting Training and Planning: Wednesday June:00-6:30 pm Location: Crocker
Summer Program Schedule:
Monday July 6 2026 to Thursday July 30 2026 (Mon Thurs - 4-week program)
Hours: 8:00-2:00 pm.
All program hours must be during out-of-school time. All duties must be performed during non-contractual hours.
Multiple positions available; dependent upon number of student participants.
Total Compensation: RN Not To Exceed (NTE) 106 hours $60/hr Not To Exceed (NTE): $6360.00. LPN Not To Exceed (NTE) 106 hours $40/hr Not To Exceed (NTE): $4240.00. This amount includes all program time as well as all prep and wrap-up required - Stipends require a Request for Payment form OR Time Sheets to be submitted at the completion of the assignment.
Funding Source: 21st CCLC Grants City Funding
Applicants must commit to being present for the full duration of the program.
