UNM Medical Group Inc. is hiring for a Data Governance Coordinator to join our UNM Health System team. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in New Mexico. This opportunity is a REMOTE full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque New Mexico.
*This is a work from home position that requires the selected candidate to have a permanent address and live in New Mexico or be willing to relocate to New Mexico*
Minimum $44604 - Midpoint $55766*
*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.
Summary
The Data Governance Coordinator supports the Health System data governance program by
coordinating governance activities maintaining governance tools and documentation and facilitating
communication across clinical operational and administrative domains. This role ensures
governance processes operate efficiently and consistently across departments supporting data
quality regulatory compliance stewardship engagement and enterprise reporting integrity. The
Data Governance Coordinator partners closely with Data Governance leadership data stewards
analytics teams IT compliance and operational leaders to advance data quality governance
maturity and sustain standardized data practices.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in analytics support program coordination or related field.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that exceeds the minimum education requirement
may be substituted for general experience on a year-for-year basis.
Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate enterprise data governance meetings councils and stewardship forums; maintain
governance charters policies standards data definitions and documentation repositories;
track action items issues and decisions from governance committees; support governance
roadmap tracking and maturity initiatives; assist with intake and routing of data-related issues
and requests.
2. Coordinate support and maintenance of data governance tools including data platforms
dashboards glossary metadata management and issue tracking systems; ensure accurate
documentation of data definitions ownership lineage and stewardship assignments; support
updates to enterprise data policies and standards.
3. Develops and maintains reports and dashboards to support operational decision making and
performance improvement initiatives; monitor and report on governance program metrics
adoption and participation; ensures accuracy completeness and timeliness of all required
reports and documentation.
4. Partners with designated data stewards across clinical revenue cycle finance human
resources and operational domains; facilitate stewardship engagement and accountability
tracking; support stewardship training and communication initiatives; monitor stewardship
workflows and escalate unresolved issues as appropriate.
5. Assists in tracking data quality metrics and remediation efforts; coordinate documentation to
support regulatory requirements; support audit readiness by maintaining governance records
and documentation; collaborate with compliance privacy and information security teams to
align governance processes.
6. Develop and distribute governance communications updates and educational materials;
maintain governance intranet site or collaboration platform content; support awareness and
adoption of governance policies and standards; coordinate cross-functional collaboration
between analytics information technology and business stakeholders.
7. Assists in monitoring program operational expenses and supports budget forecasting;
recommends adjustments to optimize use of resources; ensures compliance with departmental
and organizational financial policies.
8. Provides administrative and project support to Data Governance leadership as needed.
9. Supports and creates a culture of service excellence teamwork and accountability in
