About the Unit
Our team is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our inpatient pharmacy team collaborates closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication management for hospitalized patients. We oversee the medication storage distribution and management in a variety of settings. We review medication orders for accuracy and potential interactions accurately prepare and dispense medications provide evidence-based drug information monitor drug levels to optimize therapy and educate patients and families about their medications. By prioritizing medication safety and minimizing adverse events we strive to improve patient outcomes and contribute to their overall well-being.

The PGY2 residency program builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge skills and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas goals and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized positions and board certification in the advanced practice area if available. Provide safe and effective patient care services while promoting safe and effective access to medication therapy. Provide patient-centered care through interaction and facilitating effective communication with patients caregivers and stakeholders. Participate in the identification and implementation of medication-related interventions for a patient population (population health management). Conduct pracrice advancement projects. Demonstrate leadership skills that contribute to departmental and/or organizational excellence in the advancement of pharmacy services. Demonstrate leadership skills that foster personal growth and professional engagement. Provide effective medication and practice-related education. Provide professional and practice-related training to meet learners educational needs. Complete all additional activities required and outlined by individual Pharmacy Residency Program
Qualifications
- Required Bachelors Degree Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency.
- Experience gained through completion of a PGY1 residency program. Required

- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required Or
