Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts a history and physical examination of all assigned patients.
- Manages all patients according to Northside Hospital established Standards of Care and protocols established by assigned directors.
- May order treatments (including rehabilitation services) laboratory studies and x-rays as indicated for patients in the clinic or practice using established addition the Nurse Practitioner will appropriately call in medications within the scope of his/her licensure.
- Utilize medical staff resources as required.
- Provide patient with discharge instructions and will check for understanding of instructions.
- Provide the patient with follow up care when needed through a specialty physician referral or a follow up visit.
- Collaborate with leadership to assure quality of care and services to our customers.
- Input and maintain patient information in the computer system or medical chart as appropriate.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions unsafe conditions or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to a member of management.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
- Masters Degree in Nursing
