Summary:
The Director Records oversees all aspects of technical information records and commercial trace for whole assets and other materials held for sale by Willis Aeronautical Services Inc. (WASI).
Responsibilities:
- Lead records team and implement cross-functional process improvements in a senior or director capacity.
- Direct the review and auditing of technical documentation from heavy maintenance shop visits and acquisitions guaranteeing completeness and compliance for all company owned or managed engines.
- Oversee storage preservation and inventory management of engine assets including company property at vendor facilities and updates to engine inventory templates.
- Develop implement and monitor advanced documentation systems that keep technical publications and MPD tasks current and accessible organization wide.
- Lead technical due diligence in engine acquisition projects evaluating and integrating new and used engine records into company systems.
- Ensure compliance with airworthiness directives service bulletins FAA and EASA regulations staying current with all legislative changes that affect engine assets.
- Establish organizational best practices for documentation audit readiness and cross-functional collaboration with internal teams vendors and customers.
- Train and mentor team members in documentation standards regulatory compliance and engine records analysis.
- Build complete Life Limited Parts (LLP) back to birth records documenting and demonstrating the complete mechanical and commercial history of each part. Working with Sales and Marketing present these records in a consistent format that is easy to read and understand for customers.
- Foster continuous process improvement leveraging technology and expertise to optimize records management effectiveness and reliability.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and oversee quality assurance during engine records acquisitions and asset integration.
- Advise Sr. Director Engine Product Line on completeness of engine records any shortcomings and their potential impact on the marketability of an asset and proactively supply a plan to find and insert any missing records to realize the highest possible return for each engine.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Ability to multi-task work under pressure and travel as needed for asset audits or acquisitions.
- In-depth knowledge of FAA and EASA aviation regulations technical documentation protocols and engine asset management.
- FAA A&P license or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum 15 years experience in commercial aero engine maintenance engineering and technical records.
- Hands-on experience with major engine models (CF34 CFM56 CF6-80 PW4000 V2500).
- Proficiency with technical documentation systems and advanced use of enterprise software (Word Excel SharePoint and Salesforce).
- Expert in technical records management airworthiness directives maintenance programs and engine recordkeeping.
- Strong leadership organizational and planning skills able to manage multidisciplinary teams and large-scale projects.
- Excellent interpersonal communication with contractors vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of foreign languages a plus.
Travel/Misc.:
- Occasional travel both domestically and internationally when needed.
