Job Summary
THIS IS AN UPPERCLASSMAN STUDENT POSITION. (Student may NOT be classified as FWS)
Expected hours of work per week: 10-14 hours (12 would work great).
Work Location & Hours: Meet with the professor in the office; often work independently preferably in the library when appropriate.
Qualifications for Position:
- Sophomore Junior or Senior standing(Junion/Senior preference)
- Minimum 2.75 GPA
- Adequate knowledge of the methods of research
- Strong reading and writing skills
- Able to work independently
- Strong character and integrity
- Interest in theology biblical studies church history vocational ministry seminary etc. preferred
- Applicant must be a Covenant student
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work 10-14 hours a week.
- Grade objective portions of exams quizzes reading assignments etc.
- Create PowerPoint Presentations based on the Professors work
- Proctor exams quizzes etc. as needed
- Photocopy essays books handouts etc. as needed
- Carry out basic research for professors writing projects
- Edit writing materials by professors
- Tutor other students
- Revise/update previous exams quizzes notes etc.
- Audit faculty supervisors courses if needed
- Regularly report to the faculty supervisor - Office is in Sanderson 206
Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed
- Career & Self-Development including growing in the ability to problem solve to be self-motivated and creative in accomplishing assigned work.
- Communication in the form of articulating clear questions and suggestions to the professor growing ability in written expression and increasing editorial skills.
- Critical Thinking in the form of problem-solving being proactive when faced with challenges and learning to analyze data (e.g. articles research etc) all the while learning to summarize and synthesize material.
- Global Literacy is displayed by learning to use the library and develop greater research skills.
- Leadership through engaging in thoughtful and constructive conversations with the Professor regarding various research projects double-checking exams for fairness and clarity and advising the Professor in any area you think could improve his teaching writing or other areas of work.
- Professionalism by regularly checking in with professors staying on task meeting deadlines ability to work independently keeping confidentiality with objective grading etc.
- Teamwork including working with other students when needing to assist students who are taking the professors class and may need help. Also working well with the Professor.
- Technology: become more proficient in applications used in public presentations such as PowerPoint.
