Job Summary
Here at Austin Industries we have an Information Technology internship program that will give you exposure to how infrastructure and cybersecurity in our information technology department is managed within the construction industry. Through collaboration with the ATS team our IT intern will have hands on experience and involvement on various parts of the project lifecycles. This will give our intern the opportunity to strengthen their skills while learning from experts across several areas impacted. The project assigned is highly visible and critical to the success of Austin Infrastructure and Cybersecurity program. This is a paid 12 weeks full-time internship program that will start onMonday May 18 2026 and run throughFriday August 7 2026.Our intern will report to our corporate headquarters located in Dallas TX (Uptown area).Our intern will also participate in various social and volunteer events with fellow employee-owners and have the great opportunity to visit an active project site. General Intern Duties:
- Participate in project meetings to document meeting minute and providing status updates
- Help identify and document project requirements resource challenges etc.
- Help communicate project schedule internally and externally
- Monitor project status on a daily basis
- Track project milestone/phases to identify timeline restraints and/or delays
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Actively pursuing a bachelors degree in information technology or similar field
- Students currently junior or senior in status
- Must be able to commit to work hours assigned during internship program
- Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and in a team setting as well
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
Our intern will be assigned a supervisor who is a professional with both expertise and educational background in the field of information technology. They can expect a preliminary meeting with their supervisor to discuss the goals expectations and desired outcomes of the internship. Employee-owners participating in an internship will be reviewed upon the completion of their internship. This review should be used as a tool to communicate the successes and learning outcomes of the internship. The supervisor will also complete any necessary paperwork that must be provided to the interns school or university.
