Job Summary

Overview:


This role supports a schoolbased suicide prevention study and will be certified to deliver evidencebased programs Signs of Suicide and Youth Aware of Mental Health in middle and high schools across central and southeast Ohio. They will engage in intervention consultation and coordinate study recruitment consent assessments schoolpartner support scheduling meeting support. Travel to school sites required. Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection insurance eligibility driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Typical hours: MonFri 84:30 with one 128:30 day weekly (subject to study needs).

Manages elements of a clinical study to meet all protocol obligations while following guidelines and standard operating procedures. Coordinates start-up activities launch activities day to day management of a study and study closure activities.


Job Description:


Essential Functions:

  • Recruits consents and enrolls subjects according to ICH/GCP regulations and subjects rights through institutional IRB federal and state regulations and departmental quality control guidelines. Answers questions acts as a patient and family advocate and participates in retention of enrolled research participants.
  • Ensures that the subject meets inclusion and exclusion criteria. Alerts the investigator when safety is in jeopardy there is a protocol deviation or when the subject requests premature study termination.
  • Collects and manages research data and subject information. Maintains accurate data collection of all study data. Conducts data and statistical analysis with supervision.
  • Assists with maintaining regulatory binder and documents. Completes screening sheets and recruitment logs. Collaborates coordinates and schedules subject study visits.
  • Conducts clinical interviews in-person virtually and over the phone. Examines past and collects current mental health history and behavior. Contacts appropriate Crisis Services when required by study protocol.

Education Requirement:

  • BA/BS required.
  • Degree in social science health or behavioral field preferred.

Skills:

  • Understanding of clinical research preferred.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and word processing and data management software.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented and self-directive.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to actively participate as a team player.

Experience:

Previous experience in clinical research or health care related field preferred.
