Operations Manager

Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of manufacturing operations including people management productivity process improvement and cost control. This role ensures the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) while fostering a culture of continuous improvement safety and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and proven experience leading teams through change in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Productivity
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient high-quality production output
- Monitor and drive performance against established KPIs (e.g. OTIF Quality Throughput)
- Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity and operational efficiency
People Leadership
- Lead coach and develop a team of supervisors and frontline employees
- Foster a culture of accountability engagement and continuous improvement
- Manage workforce planning skill development and the flow of information
Process Improvement & Lean Initiatives
- Champion Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions
- Lead Kaizen events and root cause analysis to eliminate waste and variability
Cost Management
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and safety standards
- Ability to interpret financial statements and connect operational performance to financial outcomes
- Identify opportunities for resource optimization and capital investment
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales quality procurement customer service and maintenance teams to achieve operational goals
- Support new product introductions and process changes
- Ensure alignment across departments to meet business objectives
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Lead safety initiatives audits and incident investigations
- Ensure adherence to company policies and environmental standards
Qualifications :
Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proven experience leading teams through change and continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced complex manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with ERP systems and manufacturing performance metrics
- Experience with manufacturing performance metrics KPI dashboards and management operating systems
