Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) to support perioperative patient care in a fast-paced operating room this role you will function as a key member of the surgical team assisting physicians during operative and invasive procedures while ensuring the highest standards of sterile technique and patient safety.
Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse the Surgical Technologist will utilize clinical expertise to anticipate surgical needs manage instrumentation and contribute to efficient and effective surgical outcomes. This position also serves as a resource and mentor to peers within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures
- Function as a scrub assistant during surgeries and invasive procedures
- Ensure proper preparation handling and availability of surgical instruments and equipment
- Anticipate surgeon needs and provide appropriate instruments and supplies promptly
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Assist with patient positioning draping and intraoperative support
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons nurses and other surgical team members
- Monitor track and manage surgical instruments throughout procedures
- Support compliance with hospital policies regulatory standards and safety guidelines
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to team members as needed
Required Experience & Skills
- Hands-on experience in the following specialties:
- General Surgery
- Gynecology (GYN)
- Ear Nose and Throat (ENT)
- Orthopedics
- Urology
- Vascular Surgery
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (e.g. Mako Robotics)
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure operating room setting
Preferred Experience
- Neurospine procedures
- Pediatric surgical experience
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (preferred)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (as required)
