Safety Specialist

HazTek is hiring an experienced Safety Specialist to support our growing commercial construction projects. If youre passionate about making an impact driving compliance and building a culture where every worker goes home safe we want you on our team.

  • OSHA 510 and STSC preferred.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations site-specific safety plans and client safety standards across all electrical scopes of work.
    • Conduct daily field safety audits job hazard analyses (JHAs) and pre-task planning reviews with crews. Majority fiield work making observations
    • Ability to lead and document toolbox talks safety orientations and ongoing safety training for field personnel.
    • Monitor high-risk activities such as energized electrical work lockout/tagout (LOTO) arc flash exposure elevated work and confined space entry.
    • Investigate incidents near misses and unsafe conditions; prepare detailed reports and corrective action plans.
    • Track and maintain safety metrics documentation permits and compliance records.
    • Support project leadership in fostering a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure proper use inspection and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety systems.
    • Participate in site safety meetings audits and client inspections.

    Deliverables:

    • Daily/weekly safety reports and inspection logs
    • Incident and near-miss investigation reports
    • Training records and attendance documentation
    • Compliance tracking and corrective action follow-ups
    • Safety performance metrics and trend analysis

Qualifications

  • Qualifications (Typical):

    • Relevant safety certifications: 3 years experience OSHA 510 preferred
    • Experience on large-scale or mission-critical construction projects preferably data centers
    • Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E LOTO procedures)
    • Excellent communication leadership and documentation skills
