Job Summary
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Complex Facility Process Engineer through April 24 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).
Chevron is committed to maintaining a high level of technical expertise in the downstream organization to maintain an industry leading position in safe reliable and profitable operation of its refineries. This position is relied upon for technical support of day-to-day operations process optimization process safety improvements and various technical evaluations. This position will report to the technical organization.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Provide process troubleshooting support make technical recommendations answer technical inquiries improve process engineering tools and develop process procedures.
- Provide support to and carry out reliability and hazard analysis studies to improve plant safety reliability and economics.
- Help identify gaps between current performance and best-in-class and recommend opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct test runs to optimize process variables and evaluate plant performance.
- Provide technical recommendations and engineering support during planned unit turnarounds. This work may entail work at heights and confined space entry.
- Works in collaboration with specialists and engineers of other disciplines.
- Networks with subject matter experts in other facilities to leverage shared expertise.
- Provides requested technical advice and recommendations to project teams within the required time frames.
- Influence and improve work processes across the refinery.
- Demonstrate and role model behaviors supporting the Chevron principles and values including support for diversity leadership teamwork customer focus and personal/process safety.
- Individual schedules may require flexibility to respond to refinery upsets during off-hours.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering required preferably chemical engineering.
- 1 year of relevant Process Engineering experience supporting refinery operations chemical plants/processes process design or a related manufacturing field.
- An aptitude for practical application of the chemical engineering fundamentals of mass transfer/distillation heat transfer fluid dynamics process control and kinetics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant Process Engineering experience supporting refinery operations.
- Have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following refinery process technologies: Distillation Hydroprocessing/Hydrocracking Hydrogen Manufacturing Naphtha Reforming Sulfur Recovery FCC Alkylation or Coking.
- Prior experience supporting turnaround execution from a technical role.
- Familiarity with process monitoring tools and process modeling software such as PI Seeq PRO/ii HYSYS etc.
