Job Summary
The Senior Manager Group Tax is responsible for overseeing the global tax strategy compliance and planning for an organisation with multi-jurisdictional operations. This role involves managing direct and indirect tax matters leading cross-border tax projects ensuring regulatory compliance and acting as a trusted advisor to the business on all tax-related issues.
General Responsibilities
- Business partner to the consumer goods business unit: Advise on tax implications on new business models M&As restructuring and manage execution of the Group taxs projects/ initiatives to provide value-added tax services to internal stakeholders
- Develop and implement global tax strategies to optimise the groups effective tax rate while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations including seeking tax incentives/grants opportunities.
- Support tax audits/investigations and act as liaison between external tax advisors and tax authorities for any tax clarification queries or tax holiday milestone assessment.
- Evaluate entities recommend process or system enhancement to achieve tax efficiency work with local management/internal stakeholders to develop action plan and monitor implementation;
- Identify assess and mitigate tax risks across the group implementing appropriate controls and processes.
- Review monthly group tax report and year end closing tax report for entire Group within tight deadlines.
Functional Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in tax with significant exposure to group or regional tax management ideally in a multinational environment.
- Deep knowledge of international tax principles transfer pricing and cross-border tax planning.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders and across diverse teams.
- Experience with tax technology and ERP systems is advantageous.
- Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
- Attention to detail and high level of integrity.
- Adaptability to changing regulations and business priorities.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Cultural awareness and ability to operate in a global context.
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Law or related field; professional tax qualification (e.g. CA CPA CTA) is highly desirable.
