IT Retail Solution Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Strategy & Architecture

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate retail operational requirements into scalable IT solutions.
• Design and oversee integrated system architecture across retail supply chain finance merchandising and customer experience platforms.
• Ensure alignment between ERP POS CRM and other retail applications.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption aligned with digital retail transformation initiatives.
• Ensure solutions are cloud-ready and follow best practices in scalability resilience and security.

2. ERP & Retail Application Management

• Oversee ERP implementation enhancement and ongoing support activities.
• Manage POS systems and other retail applications through internal teams and QA functions.
• Ensure system performance reliability and business continuity across stores and head office.
• Lead system optimization initiatives to improve retail efficiency and customer experience.
• Ensure proper QA governance across all retail technology releases.

3. Project & Delivery Management

• Lead end-to-end solution delivery including planning budgeting resource allocation and timeline management.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (developers QA vendors and business users).
• Ensure projects are delivered on time within scope and within budget.
• Manage change management and rollout strategy across retail stores.

4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with external vendors implementation partners and service providers.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Work closely with global ERP implementation partners and large-scale consulting firms.
• Act as key liaison between IT and retail business units.
• Ensure high user satisfaction and alignment with commercial objectives.

5. Governance Compliance & Security

• Ensure compliance with internal policies industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation and conduct system audits.
• Ensure cybersecurity data privacy and cloud governance standards are enforced.
• Implement best practices in cloud-native and Kubernetes-based deployments.

6. Team Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with ERP POS application and QA teams.
• Promote accountability innovation and continuous improvement within retail IT functions.
• Contribute to building a strong retail IT capability across the organization.

Job Specification

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field.
• Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g. TOGAF PMP ITIL) are a plus.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT with at least 35 years in retail solution architecture or retail IT management.
• Strong experience managing ERP systems directly (preferably Oracle ERP or similar enterprise platforms).
• Experience overseeing POS systems and other retail applications.
• Proven background in retail or consumer-facing industries (mandatory).
• Experience working with major ERP implementation partners or large retail organizations is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with ERP POS CRM and cloud technologies.
• Experience managing in-house applications deployed in Kubernetes environments.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong knowledge of ERP architecture and retail system integration.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes architecture (deployments services ingress controllers Helm charts secrets management).
• Knowledge of cloud-native application design scalability and fault tolerance.
• Understanding of cybersecurity compliance and retail data governance.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written) mandatory due to communication with global vendors and stakeholders.
