We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative English Teacher to join a high-energy department in Bradford. We are looking for an educator who can navigate the complexities of the English curriculum while fostering a genuine love for the written and spoken word in an urban setting.
Core Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Planning and delivering high-quality inclusive lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 with the potential to teach A-Level English Literature or Language for the right candidate.
Literacy Advocacy: Implementing targeted strategies to improve reading ages and writing fluency ensuring that English serves as a gateway to success across all other subjects.
Examination Preparation: Guiding Year 11 students through the rigours of GCSE English Language and Literature (AQA Edexcel or Eduqas) using data-driven interventions to maximise progress.
Creative Pedagogy: Using a variety of teaching methodsfrom Socratic seminars and live modelling to digital storytellingto engage students of all abilities including those with EAL (English as an Additional Language).
Pastoral Leadership: Serving as a dedicated Form Tutor providing a supportive start to the day and monitoring the academic and social wellbeing of a specific group of students.
Extracurricular Enrichment: Contributing to the wider life of the school through book clubs debating societies creative writing workshops or theatre trips.

Candidate Profile
