We are seeking an intellectually curious and engaging Economics Teacher to join a high-achieving Social Sciences department in Hull. As the City of Culture and a key player in the UKs Energy Estuary Hull is undergoing a massive economic transition toward renewable technologies and maritime innovation. This provides a fascinating real-world laboratory for an Economics specialist. We are looking for an educator who can navigate the complexities of macro and micro theory while fostering a genuine sense of global citizenship.
Core Responsibilities
Curriculum Excellence: Planning and delivering high-quality Economics lessons primarily at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) with opportunities to support Business or Citizenship at Key Stage 4.
Theoretical Mastery: Delivering expert instruction on core economic pillars including Supply and Demand Market Failure Monetary Policy and International Trade.
Data Analysis: Teaching students how to interrogate complex datasets evaluate economic indicators (GDP CPI Unemployment) and construct logical evidence-based arguments.
Exam Preparation: Guiding students through the rigours of external examinations (AQA or Edexcel) with a heavy focus on high-level evaluative essay writing and quantitative skills.
Contemporary Application: Integrating current eventsfrom global supply chain shifts to local Levelling Up initiativesinto the curriculum to ensure Economics remains a living breathing subject.
Pastoral Leadership: Serving as a dedicated Form Tutor providing a supportive environment and helping students navigate their pathways to university or higher-level apprenticeships.

Candidate Profile
