Are you a highly organized professional with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Can you be the administrative backbone of a department dedicated to ensuring that every child regardless of their starting point has equal access to an exceptional education

We are seeking a diligent and empathetic SEND Administrator to join a committed Special Educational Needs team in Peterborough. As one of the UKs most diverse and fastest-growing cities Peterborough is a place where inclusive education is more vital than ever. We are looking for an individual who can manage complex documentation and coordinate essential services with precision patience and a deep commitment to student welfare.


Core Responsibilities

  • SEND Documentation Management: Coordinating the administrative cycle for Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) including the scheduling of annual reviews collating professional reports and ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.

  • Liaison & Coordination: Acting as a vital point of contact between the school parents and external agencies (such as Educational Psychologists CAMHS and Speech and Language Therapists) to ensure joined-up support for students.

  • Data Integrity: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on the schools SEND Register using systems like Arbor or SIMS ensuring all information is handled with the highest level of confidentiality and GDPR compliance.

  • Meeting Support: Organizing and minuting sensitive meetings involving parents and professionals ensuring that all parties are informed and that agreed actions are tracked and followed up.

  • Funding & Resource Tracking: Assisting the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) in tracking high-needs funding applications and monitoring the allocation of specialist resources and interventions.

  • Access Arrangements: Supporting the administrative process for exam access arrangements ensuring that eligible students have the necessary evidence and support in place for internal and external assessments.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: Previous experience in a school office or a SEND-related administrative role is highly desirable. Familiarity with the EHCP process and school management systems (Arbor/SIMS) is a significant advantage.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional empathy and the ability to communicate sensitively with parents and carers who may be navigating challenging circumstances.
