Job Description: Director AI/ML & Automation

About the Role

IQVIA is seeking a visionary Director of AI & Automation to lead the design development and deployment of intelligent automation solutions across the enterprise. This role will be pivotal in driving digital transformation enhancing operational efficiency and unlocking new value streams through advanced AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership Define and execute AI and Technology Solutions AI and automation strategy aligned with business goals.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML generative AI and intelligent automation across functions.
• Partner with senior leadership to prioritize initiatives that deliver measurable impact.
• Innovation & Delivery Lead cross-functional teams to design build and scale AI-driven solutions.
• Oversee automation programs (RPA intelligent workflows cognitive services).
• Ensure solutions are ethical compliant and aligned with industry regulations.
• Collaboration & Influence Work closely with technology data science and business units to embed AI into core processes.
• Evangelize AI adoption across the organization through thought leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Build strong external partnerships with vendors startups and academia to stay ahead of emerging trends.
• Governance & Risk Management
• Establish frameworks for responsible AI ensuring transparency fairness and accountability.
• Monitor performance ROI and scalability of AI initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across teams.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Masters Degree in computer application or equivalent

Technical Skills:

• 12 years of experience in technology leadership with at least 5 years focused on AI/ML automation.
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale AI/automation programs.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML natural language processing generative AI and RPA technologies.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business outcomes.
• Excellent communication stakeholder management and change leadership skills.
• Experience in life sciences healthcare or regulated industries preferred.
• Proficiency in opportunity assessment and suggesting best possible automation solutions
• Strong programming skills (Python C# or Java)
• Solid understanding of computer programming and software development
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform complex system tests
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Good collaboration skills and attention to detail
• Creative thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to communicate well with other members of the development team
• Excellent Stakeholder management skills
• Ability to keep up with the latest technologies
• A desire to continually upgrade technical knowledge

Good to Have:

• Experience in Lean/Kaizen
• Experience in RPA - Automation Anywhere
• Expertise in various cloud data loader tools such as Informatica on Demand and data migration principles
• Experience in Salesforce is a plus
• Experience with project management and estimation techniques
• Pharma domain experience.
