Hours:
Up to 6 hours per day
Dates:
July 6 2026 - July 31 2026 (Monday - Friday all weeks.)
Compensation:
Internal Cafeteria Worker Candidates: Hourly Rate as per the contract
External Candidates: $17.50 per hour

Statement of Duties:
- Performs tasks requiring an ordinary degree of skill in preparation of meals for delivery in the community and serving of food if necessary for limited in-school programs if offered as well as other tasks required for the operation and sanitary maintenance of a food service facility or area. All state mandatory safety measures must be followed consistently.
- Prepares vegetables and other foods for cooking as necessary
- Makes soups and other simple hot foods sandwich fillings salad dressing and simple desserts as necessary.
- Prepares sandwiches and salads.
- Prepares lunch and snacks for delivery and/or service as necessary
- Lift kitchen materials and supplies
- Operates electrical equipment such as mixers potato peelers slicing machines dishwashers and toasters.
- Cleans tables and other kitchen equipment.
- Collects and washes dishes silver and cooling utensils and puts them away.
- Sweeps floor cleans counters and tables and counter and kitchen equipment such as food containers trays cooking ranges garbage cans and refrigerators.
- Receives and checks deliveries of food and other supplies.
- Stores food properly in refrigerators and storeroom.
- Keeps stores in good order.
- Assists in the taking of inventories of supplies cashiering and keeps simple records.
- Works as a member of a cafeteria staff team
- Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the Principal directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid Drivers License and mode of transportation to drive between school buildings required
- Experience in food service industry preferred
- Must be a positive contributor as a team player
- Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
