Registered Nurse (RN) Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
Location: Brooklyn NY 11203
Assignment Length: 14 Weeks
Schedule: Days 8:00 AM 8:30 PM
Hours: 34.5 hours per week (3 shifts/week 11.5-hour shifts)
Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is actively seeking a skilled Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic acute care setting. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to delivering high-quality patient-focused care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Deliver direct nursing care to both pre-operative and post-operative patients
- Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with clinical guidelines
- Execute clinical procedures including IV insertion catheterization and wound care
- Monitor patient conditions including vital signs and respond promptly to any changes
- Utilize and manage specialized medical equipment as necessary
- Partner with healthcare teams to support discharge planning and care transitions
- Provide education and guidance to patients and their families regarding treatment and recovery
- Maintain precise and timely patient records and documentation
- Ensure adherence to established nursing standards protocols and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience in an acute or post-acute care environment
- Recent hands-on clinical experience within the last year
- Proficiency in:
- Patient assessment and clinical evaluation
- Medication administration
- IV therapy
- Wound care and infection control
- Post-operative care
- Telemetry monitoring
- Patient and family education
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with EPIC EMR systems
Education Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Licensure & Certifications
- Active New York State RN License (Primary Source Verified)
- AHA BLS Certification (required)
- AHA ACLS Certification (as applicable)
