The Venue
MR PORTER is an unprecedented fine dining steak house in the crown of the historicExchange building and the W Amsterdam. Duality defines MR PORTER character; simple and extravagant masculine yet feminine. The resident DJ creates an infectious high-energy atmosphere while the sleek surroundings with a signature 360-degree island bar are designed to encourage guests to interact. Where the nights are vibrant Sundays are for relaxing.
The Job
We are currently seeking a motivated and energetic Runner to join our team at MR PORTER Amsterdam. Food Runners are responsible for serving guests in all sections of the restaurant and assist with clearing and refilling stations as well as maintaining the back of house. All of our employees work together to provide outstanding authentic service and experience for every guest. To realize this we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join our team.
Job requirements
Responsibilities
Delivering food: The restaurant runner is responsible for delivering food from the kitchen to the appropriate tables in a timely and efficient manner.
Checking orders: The runner should check each order for accuracy and ensure that the correct dishes are delivered to the right tables.
Providing customer service: The runner may interact with guests to answer questions make recommendations and provide general assistance with their dining experience.
Clearing tables: The runner may also be responsible for clearing tables and ensuring that the dining area is clean and tidy.
Assisting with other duties: The runner may assist with other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager such as preparing tables taking orders or processing payments.
Requirements
Customer service skills: Restaurant runners should have good customer service skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally with guests.
Ability to work under pressure: Restaurant runners must be able to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
Attention to detail: Restaurant runners must pay attention to details to ensure that orders are accurate and delivered to the right tables.
Ability to work in a team: Restaurant runners should be able to work well in a team and communicate effectively with other staff members.
International approach: Must be able to fully communicate in English.
North Holland: Living in Amsterdam or nearby (flexible with commuting).
