The French Teacher will thrive in a collaborative environment working with the faculty of the languages department and with the broader faculty in advancing the mission of the St. Pauls School and the commitment to teaching and learning in a holistic educational environment. The French Teacher will teach classes of introductory and advanced levels of French at the high school (secondary) level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities of the French Teacher include: Teaching four classes from beginning through advanced levels. Promoting the study of languages at St. Pauls School through activities outside the classroom. Possessing knowledge of current trends in pedagogy and addition to teaching responsibilities faculty at St. Pauls School are responsible for a variety of activities typical to the boarding school environment including advising dormitory duty coaching committee work and other duties. Using technology to enhance language learning. Faculty members are required to live on campus teach classes on Saturdays and be available for duties in the evenings as well as on Sundays.
Minimum requirements: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in French or related field plus 2 years of experience as a French teacher.
Must have: Ability to teach all levels of French. Fluency in speaking listening writing and reading French. Experience using Canvas or other learning management systems and be able to use instructional technology to enhance the language learning process and teaching of French. Ability to manage and respond to a variety of circumstances that may arise while supervising or advising students. Uphold appropriate boundaries with colleagues and students.
