Area 31 Career Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early College Precision Machining Instructor to join our Career and Technical Education team. This full-time position involves teaching dual credit courses aligned with advanced manufacturing pathways preparing high school students with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed for careers in precision machining and CNC operations as well as postsecondary education.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach dual credit and secondary-level courses in Precision Machining and related advanced manufacturing content.
- Deliver instruction in areas such as CNC machining manual machining blueprint reading metrology and machining processes.
- Develop engaging industry-relevant lessons aligned with state standards and postsecondary curriculum.
- Provide hands-on training using industry-standard equipment and technology.
- Create a classroom and lab environment that promotes safety skill development and career readiness.
- Assess student performance and provide meaningful feedback to support growth and mastery.
- Collaborate with colleagues industry partners and postsecondary institutions to strengthen program outcomes.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism and workplace expectations in the manufacturing field.
- Support students in earning dual credit industry certifications and transitioning to postsecondary education or employment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Traditional Credentialing Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher in a related area and a minimum of two years of documented work experience in a related field.
Qualifying Fields/Majors or Coursework:
- Precision Machining Technology
- Machine Trades Technology (with discipline-related coursework)
- Advanced CNC Machining and Programming (with discipline-related coursework)
Tested Experience (Alternative) Qualification:
- A minimum of five years of full-time documented work experience in the Precision Machining field or a closely related field (in lieu of degree requirements).
- Willingness and eligibility to obtain an Indiana Workplace Specialist License in Precision Machining/Advanced Manufacturing within the first year of employment (support provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience teaching training or mentoring students or employees in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming machining operations and industry standards.
- Experience with industry certifications (e.g. NIMS or similar credentials).
- Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for career and technical education and a commitment to student success.
