Mental Health AmeriCorps Program

Safe Passages is looking for compassionate motivated individuals to serve asAmeriCorps Mental Health & Wellness Memberssupportingstudentsand familiesin building confidence resilience and healthy habits.
Responsibilities(Your Impact):
Provide fun andengagingcommunitywellnesseducationto K-12 students ontopics such ascommunity healthhygiene fitness foodsecurity nutritionstress managementandemotionaland mentalwellness.
Build meaningful positive connections with students through mentorship and dailyengagementthat supportcommunityand mental wellness.
Conduct outreach to students families and community members to improve access to social services public benefits and health resources.
Support students in navigating barriers related to education housing food security and healthcare access.
Facilitate and support school-basedas well as program-basedhealth and wellness programsand events.
Assistin collecting and tracking data on outreach efforts and student support services.
Participate inregulartrainings team meetings and professional developmenttoenhanceskills incommunity outreach communityhealth youth development and leadership.

Twice monthly living allowance starting at:
$1157 (full-time)
$868(part-time 30hrsper week)
$434(part-time 15hrsper week)
Segal AmeriCorps Education Award:
$5176(full-time)
$3697 (part-time 30hrsper week)

Potential transportation stipend

Eligibility Requirements:
Must pass criminal history check (FBI DOJ NSOPW)searches
Proof of tuberculosis clearance
High school diploma or equivalent
Proof ofU.S. citizenshipor legal permanent residentstatus
Commitment to full term of service
Must be 17 attimeofservicestart
