DescriptionJob Summary:
Plays a key role in driving business line growth for CABVI via CABVI Logistics and Route Transportation & Logistics. Responsible for identifying and qualifying prospective freight brokerage customers developing strong business relationships and working collaboratively with Route leadership to onboard new accounts.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Business Development & Lead Generation
- Identifies and pursues new freight brokerage business opportunities within assigned markets and industry segments.
- Conducts prospecting activities including outreach networking referrals and market research.
- Qualifies leads based on predefined criteria and assess long term business potential.
- Builds strong relationships with agency affiliates vendors and network partners to support customer integration.
- Maintains a healthy pipeline of prospective customers and accurately documents activity.
Customer Acquisition
- Presents CABVI/Routes value proposition capabilities and solutions to prospective customers.
- Develops tailored proposals that align with customer needs and organizational service offerings.
- Collaborates with Route leadership to present proposals and secure new customer contracts; supports transition to onboarding.
- Assists Route leadership to best present pricing terms and customer service expectations.
Onboarding & Relationship Integration
- Coordinates the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition from prospect to active shipper.
- Partners with Route leadership to align new shippers with internal teams.
- Serves as a primary point of contact during early relationship stages ensuring customer needs are met and expectations are clear.
Collaboration & Internal Alignment
- Works closely with CABVI sales leadership to align business development strategies with organizational goals.
- Provides insights on market trends customer needs and competitive activity.
- Participates in planning sessions forecasting and performance reviews as required.
Reporting & Performance Metrics
- Tracks and reports sales activity pipeline status and conversion metrics.
- Meets or exceeds established performance targets for lead generation new business acquisition and revenue growth.
- Maintains accurate documentation and adheres to all organizational procedures and compliance requirements.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- College credit preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in sales or business development preferably in the freight or logistics industry.
- Demonstrated success indeveloping new business opportunities selling existing product lines and delivering customized solutions to meet customer needs.
- Experience using CRM systems such as Business Central Salesforce ACT or similar platforms (preferred)
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to develop deliver and present information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong active listening skills with the ability to understand customer needs challenges and perspectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel locally with occasional overnight travel as needed.
