Job Summary

The Office of the Second Judicial District Attorney improves the quality of life of the citizens of Bernalillo County by reducing crime through thoughtful enforcement of the law and the development of a criminal justice system. The Office is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and is seeking applicants for a Program Specialist position at the Second Judicial District Attorneys Office in Albuquerque New Mexico.

Examples of Work Performed: Applicant will conduct PPD case screening activities including but not limited to reviewing preparing disbursing and maintaining files and documents; reviewing program contracts and admission statement; interviewing PPD participants and notifying clients of acceptance or rejection into the program; conduct case management activities including but not limited to assessing and providing services to PPD participants; supervises clientele maintaining contact monitoring program compliance assesses services and case management plans based on client needs; collaborates with other outside agencies as needed; will be required to attend court hearings and may testify in court; assisting with PPD program tracking and audit reports facilitating restitution to victims where appropriate and performing other related job duties; Stay up-to-date on diversion options including available specialty courts in Bernalillo County. Complete training in administering naloxone and willing to administer naloxone if and out of state travel may be required.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment but requires periodic site visits. Some physical effort and travel may be required.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities: This position requires considerable knowledge of the criminal justice system; knowledge of general office procedures and equipment; case management techniques; public relations and communication skills; basic math skills; good organizational skills; ability to supervise and counsel clients and the ability to follow directions and policies.

Requirements: Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Social Science or related field or at least four (4) years work experience and/or education in the Criminal Justice system Criminal Law Human Services or other related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree plus two (2) years related work experience and/or education in the Criminal Justice system Criminal Law Human Services or other related field.
