Were looking for a Senior Network & Security Engineer to take a leading technical role supporting a key customer site in Nuneaton. This is a handson customerfacing role for an experienced engineer who enjoys ownership problemsolving and delivering real outcomes.
Youll work across BAU support and project delivery acting as a trusted technical presence on site and a goto escalation point for complex network challenges.
About the role
This is a secondline and projectfocused role combining technical depth with strong customer engagement.
Youll be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues delivering network projects endtoend and ensuring the customers environment remains secure stable and welldocumented.
Youll operate with confidence and autonomy knowing when to take the lead and when to collaborate with senior colleagues and youll play a key role in guiding and mentoring a more junior engineer on site.
This role is based primarily at a customer site in Nuneaton and requires someone who is comfortable being visible accountable and trusted by stakeholders.
Key responsibilities as a Senior Network and Security Engineer:
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex network and security incidents
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues while managing priorities and SLAs
- Deliver network projects endtoend from design through to implementation commissioning and UAT
- Configure deploy and support enterprise network infrastructure including:
- Juniper switching routing and firewalls
- Aruba wireless controllers and access points
- Lead wireless deployment optimisation and troubleshooting
- Own patching upgrades and configuration changes across the estate
- Maintain clear accurate network documentation and live ticket updates
- Build strong working relationships with customer stakeholders through clear confident communication
- Mentor and guide a junior engineer supporting their technical development
- Work independently on site while collaborating with wider Intercity delivery teams
Key Experience:
This role is suited to an experienced network engineer who is confident working in a customer environment and comfortable owning complex technical delivery.
Youll bring:
- Strong handson experience in enterprise networking with at least 2 years in a dedicated networking role
- Proven experience working with Juniper and Aruba technologies
- The ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues under pressure
- Experience delivering technical projects alongside BAU support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A structured methodical approach to troubleshooting and documentation
- Confidence working independently while contributing as part of a wider team
- A proactive mindset and a genuine interest in continuous learning
Qualifications
- JNCIA ACNT or a relevant degree (or equivalent practical experience)
