Cornwall and Isles of Scilly People Hub
Cornwall Council and the Council of the Isles of Scilly have successfully secured new funding from the UK Governmentin order tosupport 3100localresidentsover the next 4 from theUK Governments newConnect to Work programme; part of the nationalGet Britain Working willbenefitour residents andtransformindividual lives.
The support will be delivered throughCornwall CouncilsPeople Hubteam which is part of the Economy Regeneration and Assets Service.
The Role
The People Hub is recruiting a full timeConnectorto join Connectorwillbe the principal means of directCornwall Councildeliveryfor the Connect to Work programme;primarilysupportingresidentsface to face in addition toby phoneor emailin order that sustainable employment outcomes can be realised.
The Connector will:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 25 residents;predominantly thoseseeking employment but will also include some who are in a job but at risk of falling out of work due to ill health.
- Work to gain a comprehensive understanding of the needs and goals of residents supported coordinate interventionsmonitorprogress and be a guide and mentor so that residentsare able toachieve their employment related goals.
- DeliveracomprehensiveInformation Advice and Guidance (IAG)process using SMART principles to measure progressandin order torealise goals associated with employment and skills; e.g. training or work.
- Adhere to the nationally recognised Individual Placement and Support (IPS) IAG model to ensure quality interventions and that a minimum of 50% of all residents supported achieve first employment earnings.
- Maintainacomprehensiveknowledgeoftherangeofpotentialemployment andskills offerings available to clients so thatappropriate referralscan be made.
- Co-ordinateinterventions(e.g. training work placements funding travelcostsor childcare)andtosupportthemonitoringofeligibleresidentsdevelopment/growth journey over an extendedperiod of time.
This position will be subject to a criminal record disclosure check.
Working Pattern:
This is a flexible hybrid role with travel tomeet residents at Cornwall Council and other publicsites asrequired.
