What Youll Do
Develops modifies applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product. Collaborates with engineering laboratory and production functions to ensure quality standards are in place. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess control and manage risks of product quality and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. Audits quality systems for development acceptance criteria (parameters based on product result). May undertake root cause analysis of incidents requiring corrective action. Ensures that corrective measures and deviation meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. Provides input to areas of design incoming material production control product evaluation and reliability inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. Applies lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilizes quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- Masters degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- PhD.
- OR Applicants without a bachelors degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
Department of Energy (DOE) Order 426.2A Requirements
In addition to the above requirements the applicant must also meet the requirements of Department of Energy (DOE) O 426.2A (i.e. High School diploma or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following the interim newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2A)
Preferred Job Requirements
- Current or previous certification as a Lead Auditor.
- Knowledge in requirements such as DOE O 414.1D American Society of Mechanical Engineers Nuclear Quality Assurance (ASME NQA-1) National Nuclear Security Administration Policy (NAP) 401.1A International Organization for Standardization(ISO):9001 American Society for Quality (AS/ASQ) 9100X American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/ISO International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 17025.
- American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector Certification.
