The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training apprenticeships or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service members suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be required to follow procedures and document work hold safety in the highest regard be highly motivated willing to learn & required to perform preventative/ corrective maintenance in accordance with a total preventative maintenance (TPM) program on various types of Commercial Jet Engine Test Cell equipment.
Duties Include:
- Preventative Maintenance Inspections
- Corrective Maintenance Repair
- Failure Analysis
- Operation of Specialized Equipment
- Setup installation calibration documentation and operation of analog and digital instrumentation data acquisition and processing systems
- Contributing to the investigation correction and documentation of instrumentation or system malfunctions
- Actively participate in multi-skills development
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Assist with safety and environmental inspections to maintain facility compliance
Basic Qualifications
- Active Military personnel on their last 180 days of military service
- Associates degree in a technical field from an accredited school or institution OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 years of technical experience (including experience in industrial maintenance)
- Physical requirements: Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs stand/walk for extended periods; climb ladders/stands; work at heights and in highnoise environments; wear required PPE (hearing/eye protection safety footwear etc.)

- Experience with NFPA 70E
- Experience with operation of mobile equipment (forklift telehandler personnel lift)
- Computerized maintenance management experience (Ex. Maximo Oracle SAP)
- Strong troubleshooting experience
