Fleming and Baron an ASSA ABLOY branded company is looking for an Order Detailer Template Librarian to join our team at our Woodbridge Ontario manufacturing location. This role is a critical part of the Order Detailing team supporting automation quality and efficiency across manufacturing and engineering workflows.

Youll be responsible for creating maintaining and managing hardware templates and drawing data used to support automation and routing within the organization. Youll ensure database accuracy template integrity and smooth integration of new hardware while collaborating closely with Order Entry Detailing NC Programming Buy Design and other technical teams.

You would also:

  • Maintain and update the hardware database including determining:
    • When manual drawings are required
    • Reinforcement and template requirements
    • Shop drawings and internal routing specifications
  • Ensure accuracy of prep data hardware standards reinforcement requirements and shop routing workflows
  • Maintain SQL-based template data supporting automated hardware preparation
  • Manage automation datasets such as:
    • Standard template clearances for continuous hinges
    • Template heights and backsets for exit devices and related hardware
    • Electric hardware routing logic (hinge edge vs. lock edge)
  • Serve as the primary contact for new hardware requests
  • Validate accuracy and legitimacy of new hardware submissions
  • Coordinate approvals with PCM/Buy Design using appropriate naming conventions
  • Monitor new hardware updates and populate required databases
  • Partner with NC Programming to ensure new preps are automation-ready
  • Ensure data accuracy to support consistent high-quality manufacturing outcomes
  • Troubleshoot hardware template discrepancies with technical teams
  • Identify opportunities to expand automation through improved template logic
  • Maintain a safe and harmonious working environment holding self and others accountable to ASSA ABLOY standards
  • Assure compliance with ISO9001 ISO14001 corporate policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct

The Skills and Experience You Need:

  • Associate or technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 35 years of experience in a similar role
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Ability to interpret architectural hardware details and preparation requirements
  • Experience working with SQL databases and maintenance tools
  • Door or hardware manufacturing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with NC automation processes and Buy Design or similar configuration systems
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed
