About the Role:
The Maintenance Technician B is a mid-level maintenance professional responsible for performing troubleshooting repairs and preventive maintenance on plant equipment. This role works with moderate supervision and collaborates closely with senior technicians while supporting entry-level team members.
The Maintenance Technician B plays an important role in maintaining equipment performance reducing downtime and supporting a safe and compliant work environment.

- Perform troubleshooting diagnostics and repairs in accordance with company policies and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) requirements
- Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency
- Inspect diagnose and repair fixed and rolling stock equipment including balers conveyor systems gearboxes electrical motors shafts rollers bearings and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Read and interpret basic mechanical electrical and hydraulic schematics and manuals
- Assist in identifying equipment issues and support root cause analysis efforts
- Provide guidance and support to Maintenance Technician A team members as needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards
- Support facility improvement projects and assist with equipment installations
- Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as required for operations and repairs
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- 2 years of industrial maintenance experience (recycling manufacturing or heavy industrial environment preferred)
- Working knowledge of balers conveyors and processing equipment
- Strong attention to safety and ability to follow established procedures
- Ability to operate equipment and complete required documentation accurately
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently safely and on time
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normal work environment is outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions dirt high levels of noise smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions including PPE.
The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Work is performed primarily in an industrial plant environment with exposure to noise odors dust and varying temperatures
- Regular presence on the plant floor including walking standing climbing stairs and navigating operating equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies and procedures
- May require extended or flexible hours to support operational needs
