Shift Details:
- Schedule: Day Shift
- Hours: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks (preference for 4 weekends per 4 weeks)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join an acute care team. This role involves evaluating and treating patients with communication swallowing and cognitive disorders across a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.
Work Environment:
- Acute care hospital setting
- Provides services across multiple units including ICU
- Treats patients with stroke neurological conditions dysphagia respiratory compromise and cognitive impairments
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate diagnose and treat speech language and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Perform bedside swallow evaluations and therapeutic interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate clinical records
- Educate patients and families on treatment strategies and outcomes
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Speech Therapy experience required
- Active Georgia SLP license required
- CCC-SLP certification required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Strong clinical and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior acute care experience
- Experience with MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) and/or FEES
