Deputy Nursery Manager
Location: Croydon
Hours: 40 hours per week full time all year round
Salary: Up to 42993.75 per annum
We are recruiting for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join a well-established early years setting in Croydon.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early years professional to step into a senior leadership role within a nursery group that combines a warm family-run feel with a real focus on quality childcare and education. The setting is part of an established provider that has been delivering childcare in Croydon since 1995 and places strong emphasis on team culture child development and working closely with parents.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the day-to-day running of the nursery maintain high standards across the setting and help lead a positive committed staff team. This role would suit an existing Deputy Manager or a strong Room Leader or Third in Charge who is ready to step up into broader operational responsibility.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Nursery Manager with the daily running of the nursery
- Lead by example in delivering high-quality care and education
- Maintain strong standards of safeguarding welfare and EYFS practice
- Support staff development room standards and team performance
- Build strong parent partnerships and maintain clear communication
- Help ensure the nursery environment remains safe organised and child-centred
- Oversee routines compliance and the smooth day-to-day operation of the setting
Requirements:
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Previous experience in a senior nursery role
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS safeguarding and nursery compliance
- Confident leadership and team support skills
- Excellent communication and organisational ability
- Passion for delivering high-quality early years care and education
