The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced and passionate Director Pharmacovigilance (LPVM) UK/IRL & UK QPPV to lead and oversee Ipsens Pharmacovigilance operations across the UK & Ireland. This pivotal role combines senior leadership responsibility with legal QPPV accountability ensuring the safety of patients and the compliance robustness and continuous improvement of our local PV system.
You will serve as Ipsens senior PV authority in the UK acting as the primary point of contact for the MHRA and will be instrumental in shaping safety governance PV strategy and inspection readiness across the affiliate.
Key Responsibilities
In this critical role you will:
- Serve as the 24/7 MHRA point of contact for all PV matters ensuring business continuity and compliant backup arrangements.
- Provide endtoend leadership of the UK PV system ensuring adherence to UK legislation GVP requirements Human Medicines Regulations and Ipsen SOPs.
- Maintain full oversight and quality assurance of the UK PSMF PV processes and local safety activities.
- Lead and mentor the UK/IE PV team fostering a culture of integrity collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Oversee external PV service providers to ensure compliant case handling data integrity and inspection readiness.
- Provide strategic PV expertise during product launches MA transfers audits and inspections.
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with Regulatory Medical Affairs Quality and Global Patient Safety teams to ensure an aligned and effective PV system.
- Represent Ipsen at regulatory interactions and industry forums (e.g. ABPI IPHA MHRA HPRA).
What Were Looking For
Were looking for an experienced and inspiring leader with:
- Extensive PV experience at senior leadership level.
- Indepth expertise in UK/EU PV regulations GVP ICH and CIOMS.
- Proven experience driving PV system oversight process optimisation and compliance.
- A strong track record in regulatory inspections and CAPA management.
- Exceptional communication crossfunctional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A degree in Medicine Pharmacy or Life Sciences (essential).
- Previous QPPV or Deputy QPPV experience (advantageous).
